Last night I went to Phoenixville, PA to attend the Firebird Festival. They had a performance at the restored Colonial Theater and as I sat there in the audience I could “feel” a ghostly presence. I know they wanted to chat, but I shut them out because I wanted to enjoy the music, dancing and storytelling .

Sometimes I have to shut out ghosts because I am busy doing other things. I’m sure it would have been an interesting ghost, living there in an old theater and all, but we’ll just have to chat another time.

Marie Laveau Tomb in New Orleans

The same thing happened down in New Orleans. We were taking a tour of an old cemetery (above ground) and the tour guide was doing a great job explaining everything.  I was being bombarded by a number of ghosts. But I was ignoring them. The tour guide stopped in front of a large above ground tomb that held some big important Voo- Doo queen. She insisted that I listen to her. I insisted that she keeps quiet because i wanted to hear what the tour guide had to say. I told her if she was so powerful she could just zoom to my hotel room later for a cup of tea and some conversation. She didn’t put a curse on me (that I know of anyway) nor did she come for tea. Maybe she doesn’t drink tea? Maybe I pissed her off.
